I am a theatre maker specialising in physical comedy and outdoor performance.
I trained at Circomedia, centre for contemporary circus and physical theatre and have a Directing MFA from the Birkbeck College, UCL.
I am a Co-Director of Red Herring Productions, which creates playful, fun and curious theatrical experiences in public spaces. We create and curate projects in our home in North Devon and create touring work designed to take place on street corners, in parks and more remote landscapes.
All of my work has an interest to blur the edges to between performers and audiences.I believe that playing has a transformative effect on people, promoting creative thinking and feelings of togetherness. I see a big part of my job as supporting people to be playful.
Having been born in London and living in cities for most of my life, I now live near Bideford in North Devon and I’m shifting towards a greater emphasis on performance that responds to both landscapes and rural communities. The Covid-19 Pandemic helped to deepen my interest in community responsive performance and I am developing this side of my practice, with a view to creating large scale projects, including different ways for people to take part.
